David Winning is an award-winning artist and inspirational teacher who has devoted his career to art and education.

He studied at Bolton College of Art and then at Cardiff University where he specialised in painting, drawing and print-making.

He has worked with adults and children in both formal and workshop settings. He was Head of Department of Art and Design before becoming the Head of Expressive Arts Faculty in a large Greater Manchester high school. During the 90’s he was Assistant Chief Examiner with the NEAB.

Over the last ten years David has been Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher in a large inner city high school. He now operates independently concentrating on his own painting and private teaching contracts.

Working in a range of media, Landscape and the Human Form are the current focus of his work.

He has exhibited widely and his work appears in public and private collections across the North West and beyond.
